Louis Borgenicht profile
Louis Borgenicht is a pediatrician/writer living in SLC, Utah. He studied French in high school and for a year in college. He and his wife, Jody, visit France/Paris yearly to hone his conversational skills and to revel in the most incredible city in the world (even though he grew up in New York City). Although many of his patients expected his two sons to be physicians, neither of them are; they are both writers, most recently authors of The Action Heros Handbook (soon available in French). Since 1980, Louis has been active in the organization: International Physicians for Prevention of Nuclear War. He has developed a slide presentation/lecture—The Last Laugh: Nuclear Humor—focused on the nuclear arms race. It was based partially on the words of novelist Robert Stone: "Te laughter is primarily moral response. Laughter represents a rebellion against chaos, a rejection of evil and an affirmation of balance and soundness." These words are perhaps even more poignant in the wake of September 11th.
