Randy Diaz profile
Randy decided to take early retirement in 2002 from a major financial services corporation in the US. He'd lived in Spain, Italy, and Portugal and traveled extensively throughout Europe and the south of France in his youth. Later, Randy and his partner vacationed in Paris. He never said, “Wow, I need to live in France." Nor did he imagine he’d move here and Paris would become his primary residence. Food and cooking are his passion and he loves cooking for friends. He attended the California Culinary in San Francisco but never pursued it as a career, because unless you’re a “celebrity” chef, making big money is next to impossible. As Randy explained, "Who wants to work 100 hours a week?" After retiring, he taught Asian style cooking, wrote restaurant reviews, catered and even helped develop menus. To quote him, "The French know their food and wine, it's an important part of their being and his existence." He writes about food and the "daily" challenges" of living in Paris. As with most Parisians, he has a love/hate relationship with the city. He writes of his experiences purely for his edification and his friends' amusement. He's in a great position, he can say and do what he wants, since the only person he has to answer to his himself! www.parismissives.blogspot.com
