Andros Trophy
The spectacle that is ice racing comes to a head at the Andros Trophy Championship Finals. Need we say more? This fast and furious event takes place February 16 at Stade de France. Prices range from 10 – 180EUR. Please visit the Andros Trophy website for more information.


Art Paris Fair
The Art Paris fair, founded in 1999, has breathed new life into the Paris contemporary art scene since its inception. From March 2 – 7 this year, the annual event will house a small exhibit that is based on quality and not quantity. Guests will be delighted to find seasoned talents as well as up and comers. Galleries Nationales du Grand Palais plays host to this modern event, which is open from 11:00am – 8:00pm, costing 12EUR. Please see the Art Paris website for more details.


Ben Franklin at Musee Carnavalet
From now through March 9, 2008, visit the Musee Carnavalet to experience the journey of one of America’s most powerful minds – Benjamin Franklin. The exhibit features nearly over 300 paintings, sculptures and other documentation that touch on the influences that Mr. Franklin had on the United States’ earliest years. The museum is free and the BF exhibit is opened from Tuesday through Sunday 10:00am – 6:00pm. For more info visit the Musee Carnavalet website.

Montparnasse Ice Skating
From the 1st of December through March 9, Patinoire Montparnasse has free skates for anyone and everyone who wants to join in the winter magic fun of it all. The cost to rent skates if 5EUR and the rink is open weekdays from 12:00pm – 8:00pm and on weekends from 9:00am – 8:00pm

Orchids from Madagascar
This curious display at the Cite des Sciences features the most exotic of Orchids and information on their homeland in the Indian Ocean. Nearly 1200 different species reside in Madagascar and 60 of them have been brought to Paris for a limited time, March 9 – 22, so that all can take in the stunning site of Madagascar’s floral masterpieces. Padmavati
Talented Indian film director Sanjay Leela Bhansali has restored Roussel’s Padmavati at the Theatre du Chatelet for a limited time only this March. Prices are from 10 – 120EUR and each performance is held on a Sunday at 8:00pm, although some dates and times may vary. Paris Manga
I’m turning Japanese, I’m turning Japanese, I really think so! For all of those into the insanely popular Japanese animation today, Paris Manga is for you. Held at the Espace Champerret from March 8-9, this 2 day event features games, toys, screenings and special guests to boot. Prices range from 8EUR for one day and 14EUR for a two day pass. Perfect Little Dolls
Bring out your inner child at the Perfect Little Dolls exhibit hosted by the Musee de la Poupee. This display takes a look at dolls from past, present and future as well as the role they play in the development of young girls. The dolls on display date as far back as 1830. Children can also make their own dolls to take home. The exhibition is open from October 16 – March 16, 2008 and costs 7EUR. Please see the Doll Museum website for more information.

Salon des Plaisirs Creatifs
Paris annual arts and crafts expo is back at the Parc Floral de Paris from February 14 – 17. With stall after stall of information and inspiration, this salon is a artsy fartsy’s dream. Please see the Salon des Plaisirs Creatifs website for more information.



St Patrick’s Night
The Palais Omnisports is hosting a Saint Patrick’s Day bash that will paint Paris green! From 8:00am – 2:00pm thousands will eat, drink and merry while dancing to traditional Celic tunes. The Rake’s Progress
Phenomonal director of the English National Opera, Edward Gardner, is taking to the stand at the Palais Garnier for a limited time this March. He conducts a new version of Stravinsky’s The Rake’s Progress on various dates. The cost is 7 – 130 EUR. Please see the Palais Garnier website for more information.

Toy Comix
From November 15 – March 9, 2008 the Musee des Arts Decoratifs is holding a contemporary exhibit entitled Toy Comix. The point of this quite unique; 32 artists were given a toy and asked to create a cartoon series based on their toy. For those who love cartoons and comics this is right up your alley. Opening hours are from Tuesday – Friday 11:00am – 6:00pm and weekend hours are 10:00am – 6:00pm. Please see Arts Decoratifs website for more information.
