Place de la Concorde

I stepped out from underground at Métro: Concorde, at this exquisite moment of dusk during late autumn.

As I crossed the street and stood in front of the luxurious Hôtel Crillon, I turned around and gazed at at giant place de la Concorde with the glowing carrousel in motion at left and the Luxor Obelisk monument at right.

I like that there are pedestrians and cars in discreet view to give the image depth as well as the brilliant early night sky.

I always try and allow myself extra time when going from point to point in Paris just in case there is something magnificent to see along the way.

Technical Details: iPhone 4, Hipstamatic App, John S lens, Ina's 1969 film, no post production.

Ferris Wheel I wish I knew, no explanation in any of the Mairie de Paris info. Perhaps they want us to look forward to a return? Pity, isn't it?

why is it temporary? Why is it temporary? We watched these last few years as they magically erected it for the holidays, then they took it down. We think that it should be a permanent structure, for all to see Paris from a great hight, at sunrise, sunset, dusk, anytime.
