A Gay Stay in Gay Paris

By Kirsten Guenther
A hotel for gays in Paris? Hotel Central is bringing new meaning to "Gay Paris." Located in an 18th-century building on rue Vieille-du-Temple, in the heart of the Marais, it's infamous for being the Paris hotel most frequented by homosexuals.

The hotel, Le Bar Central, is a popular gay bar. In fact, if you arrive at the hotel any time other than betweent 8am and 4pm, you’ll have to pick your keys up at the bar--and maybe a cute guy while you're at it. The rooms are nothing special, but clean and simple. None, however, have a bath. $85-$105. Contact: 33 rue Vieille-du-Temple, 33-1-48-87-99-33; métro: Hôtel-de-Ville.
