BUT why does the post read Daniele?

The post address on left clearly has Terri's "call letters" but Terri was picking up Danielle from my post to Danielle of a couple of years ago. Terri segued my post to Danielle in 2005 into her post of 2007.

I'll have to return more often. SO nice to see YOU and a few other regular BP'ers here. What fun we used to have! Hope all is well with you.

Ah - the confusion ;-)

Terri - Are you and Ray coming to the get together on March 21st?
We planned it around your trip ... and Al and Joyce's!

Hope you're able to attend. We'll even save a place for His Majesty.
OOPS, thanks Bigal, But welcome back Terri
BUT why does the post read Daniele?
MIMI.......you got confused as I did (and mentioned it in my post). This is not Dani posting....but Terri.

Al
Hi Dani, it's good to see you. I recently thought of you. I was without my PC for a month and when it was returned, most things were gone including the French accents you gave me. I miss our chats, but anyway, at the time I had a printer, no longer(ink is tres cher) and had printed out your directions and so recently cleaning out, one does that when we grow older, I came upon your directions to me. Merci beaucoup.

Dani.......I don't want to take the spotlight away from Karen but it's really great to hear from you and remember the wonderful forum you supervised...not only the "French Lesson" bu t the French/English,English/French banter that used to go on.

Your posting also gives me another nostalgic reminder of the last time I saw you at the BP get to gether at a bistro in NY's Theater District and really makes me up set that these wonderful gatherings are no more...be it NY,Paris, the West Coast etc. An even bigger disappointment is that so many of the participants do not come back every now and then (like you) to say hello.

Hi Al,
I'm coming back to say hello.......You might remember me from those "old" days. AKA...."His Majesty"....that arrogant, cultured, pompous, pup that used to write articles for BP.
I've continued to be in touch with Karen and since I'm returning to Paris March 15, and heard there's a get-together, Karen insisted I find my way back here.
I'll have to return more often. SO nice to see YOU and a few other regular BP'ers here. What fun we used to have!
Hope all is well with you.

Dani: I can't begin to tell you how touched I am by your loving post. You are so special. We've been through a lot together. Bises and more & health and happiness!

Miss you! more than you'll ever know.

Wow.. what a shame that you did not find this button..

I used to spend a lot of time on this Site and although I no longer do (but come in still, mainly to read some of the Beginner's French Lessons I wrote), one thing is clear:

KAREN is indeed the President, and her work at and for Bonjour Paris has been unrelented, her advice more than excellent, and her love of this site unequalled.. And the fact that her intelligent, well written and informative articles are "everywhere" as some have recently suggested, is making this site the best one on Paris, and the whole of France. It is also the reason some of us, oldtimers, even if we have gone on to other activities, keep coming back, mostly to read Karen's articles.

There is no other site like it. And this is THANKS to Karen and her team.. the current team as well as past teams.

Anyone who cannot see this should get himself some glasses... or a delete button.

Hello -- I am Karen -- for better or for worse. Bonjour Paris is both my baby and my love. HOWEVER, it would be nothing without our dedicated team members as well as our "posters." We relish each and every one of our subscribers and those of you who access the free material and the message board.

Bonjour Paris is a forum for articles and where you can ask questions, as well as receive answers. We try our best. C'est tout.

Bonjour Paris aims to be YOUR site.
Reminds me of the old days when we had the BP chat room and sometimes had the "flamers". Actually, the chat room is how I got into BP many years ago and the chat update was . . . . incredibly . . . . . . . . slow !! Seems like Karen's topics then were bagels, chocolate, and the south of France - but then again, it hasn't really changed, has it ??
~Karen should be everywhere rather than other posters chiding others.
badkitty, I just read your interesting (not very informative, not very factual, not very positive, but maybe interesting) note. I see that you have posted 2 (two) posts. I think from the previous responses (if you did bother to read them) you found out who Karen is. and than you may have been able to deduce why she is everywhere. If nothing eles, she has been living in France for a long time, and her experiences and oppinions are very extensive, and , possibly to here journalistic background, well expressed and highly valued by most readers, members and contributors of this board. After all one of the objectives of the board is to give information, and pass out facts, oppinions and general information about France and particulalrly Paris. I am not sure, as you do not state it clearly, what your problem is with this board or Karen, but if you would have pointed out the particular issue, I am sure you would have gotten a satisfactory answer.

Is this indicative of how much real traffic comes through this site?

badkitty, I'd be interested in knowing what you mean by "real traffic". This spring, in planning my trip to Paris, I found the site extremely helpful - and fun to read. For us francophiles, it's the next best thing to being there!

I for one look forward to Karen's postings, her insight and information, as I do from the others who know much more than I do about Paris. Sorry you're disappointed, but as they say, a chacun son gout. . .
Yes, a lot of us regulars are traveling during the summer months, so that is why you have not heard from so many who usually post. Karen lives in Paris and Washington, D.C., and as Jean said she is the founder and President of Bonjour Paris. Without her, there would be no Bonjour Paris blink.gif I for one, look forward to her postings about life in Paris. Badkitty, there is so much wonderful information here and on http://Bonjourparis.com, if you are planning a trip to France, so there is no reason for you, or anyone else visiting, to be disappointed. Many of us plan our trips to France based upon the advice of this forum and Bonjour Paris. We have a very nice, diversified group of people, who live all of the world, who post here.
Karen Fawcett is the founder and president of http://bonjourparis.com. She puts in tons of time and work to keep the site up and running and, as she lives in Paris and Provence, she is extremely knowledgeable about things French. So that's why Karen is everywhere, and most of us who frequent this site are delighted to have her comments, information, and dedication.

Renégate = Lady renegade...
Nothing wrong with being a "renegade" (or whatever) Al...
That means that our group do not listen to the beat of just any drummer...

Actually, it looks as tho this site gets an awful lot of traffic, tho I suspect that many remain "guests" and use this site just to glean info for their upcoming trips.

It is the height of tourist season in Paris, right now, and I have seen a number of posters that I consider "regulars" not logging on -- I assume that this is because they're in Paris (or wherever else they may be vacationing) at the moment.

I'm sorry, badkitty -- I don't understand your comment -- no fun! -- I've been hanging out here for several months -- and I continue to hang out cuz I plan on returning to France in the foreseeable future -- and, as I'm sure you know... different groups of folks talk about and enjoy different things.

At first I thought this site looked cool, but having bookmarked it and come back 2 (3? 4?) times, it is quite obvious that "Karen" is everywhere. Is this indicative of how much real traffic comes through this site?

Am I wasting my time coming in again?

If there was a remove button, I would have clicked on it this trip and if this has been offensive to "Karen" and the other webmasters or whatever they are called these days, then I hope my membership can be cancelled tout de suite!

No fun! Goodbye et merci.
