Hi,
There is a bulletin board similair to this one operating just for Burgundy http://www.burgundyboard.com. Give it a visit and try posting there for some local knowledge and information.

Gites are normally rented by the week--I don't know that you'll have much luck finding one for just two nights. A B&B might be a better possibility, but that probably won't have a pool.

Here's a web site to try for either type of lodging:

The BP archives also have Part II of the article on Burgundy.

Have a wonderful time in Burgundy, one of my favorite areas of France.

A charming village that you might like to see is Semur-en-Auxoise: very pretty, along a small river. Beaune is also delightful, although not a village, and you should certainly try to make time to visit Autun; the medieval part of the town up around the magnificent cathedral is very interesting.

I want to go to St.Fargeaux in Burgundy again to see the sound and light show at the Chateau--probably August 6 or 7. I am looking for a gite or other place to stay in the countryside nearby. We stayed once in a pretty chateau with a mote, but I can't remember the name. I'd like to spend under 80 euros, if possible.

We will be travelling from Paris with friends who have never been to France and I'd like to spend two more nights exploring Burgundy. I want ot see pretty villages and scenery, maybe also Beaune. l'd like to find a place to base for two nights so we can explore. Again, I am looking for a gite with nice surroundings, and maybe a pool.

I'd also love any recommendations for a route to travel and places to see---and, of course, to eat-- my favorite activity in France. I have only been to Burgundy once, so all is of interest to me.

Also, we will be staying in Paris near Censier Daubenton metro (the friends we are staying with are exchanging homes with a French family living there). I'd be happy to have any recommendations for Paris activity and eats (in the 25-40 euro per person range). I have copied all the restaurant recommendations on other parts of the site.

Thanks. Sally Katt osprey3@comcast.net
