PS : edited to ask you a question... Is my "packed with mistakes" OK or should I stick to "full of mistakes"/riddled with mistakes, please ? Thanks for your answer (s) smile.gif

Marie,

"packed with mistakes" is fine and good English. "Full of" and "riddled with" are probably a little more common, though.

Your English is so good and you know a lot of idioms; I only wish I spoke (wrote) French as well as you do English!

the Chateau was owned by a marvelous Canadian writer and his wife who had painstakingly restored it. They sold it to a German group who have continued to make
improvements.

Bonjour !

Thanks for the info ! I asked my friend who lives close to Blois if he knew that pleasant place but he told me it's located 100 km from his house and didn't have time to visit the area when driving back from Dordogne. He mentioned this web site : http://www.chateau-bouesse.de/htm/fr/anreise.html

But the French version is packed with... mistakes, lol ! The translation from English or German into French is very bad indeed :-) Bien cordialement.

One of our favorite areas to travel in is the Berry. Located between Tour and Chambord is the lovely Chateau Bouesse . When we first discovered it, the Chateau was owned by a marvelous Canadian writer and his wife who had painstakingly restored it. They sold it to a German group who have continued to make
improvements. The restaurant at the chateau is wonderful . If you stay there we suggest the Jean of Arc room . And do visit Gargilesse and Argenton sur Creuse!
