I didn't get notifications FOREVER! Now that I'm receiving them, it's heaven. It makes my "work" so much easier. I'm able to be more responsive in a shorter period of time. I still check for NEW posts.

Please do check your SPAM folders if you're not receiving notifications if you have specified under your OPTIONS tab when you and if you want to receive notifications. Different servers label different things as SPAM.

The upgraded discussion board is BETTER ... but nothing is perfect!

I would correct this to say that I would take out the word "just". They are a convenience for a few reasons and without making a list I would point this out. Right now when I have read all the new and pertinent posts and click off the Forum and while I was there a couple of new posts were made (or even an answer to any of the posts) voila....rather than hours or even the next day later I can tend to those posts.

I never exactly understood this whole topic - why does someone need email notifications? I just check the board from time to time and click on "View New Posts." Since I use a hotmail account for all public boards, I end up checking the board more than my hotmail.....

Mara,

You're right; we don't need the notifications; they're really just a convenience. It's nice to see them in my e-mail and click once to get into the specific thread. If I'm especially busy and I don't get a notification, I may wait until later when I have more time to check the board.

Ellen, we returned home tonight after dinner at an artist friend's new loft (bigger) and the heavy rain flooding made me glad to be back here but the spouse and dog went to bed, I came on line and found several old posts waiting in my e-mail. What'''the ''is that? because I wrote support? or..are they sloppy?

Why? Because of us who do visit other forums and don't have time to see if any responses without notification..that's why. It's a good perk forums give. Some of us appreciate it.

Karen,

I'm giving it one last try before I give in and e-mail support. I just e-mailed our oldest son. The risk is that I won't understand one word of his answer and it will probably arrive in book form, blink.gif but I'm trying anyway. If that fails, I'll let the wizards at BP take a shot at it.
In the event that it doesn't work -- please send an email explaining the precise problem to:

support@bonjourparis.com

thank you ...... grrrrrrrrrr

Ellen, let me know if you sove it. I can't. I have emails from other boards but not from here.

Well, Mimi, it looks like mission failed. I followed Karen's instructions, but no luck so far. I'll keep trying and will be sure to let you know either way.

Oh? Ok thanks. I guess this new provider works differently.

Hope this works for everyone. Same message board. However, we upgraded it again!

I don't get them!!

Mimi....

when you scroll down after a posting you will note under POST OPTIONS (on the left) 3 boxes to check. The last of the three says "Enable email notification of replies". You must check this box in any new posting subject.

Can anyone help, s'il vous plait?

Ellen -- go to the OPTIONS tab. Pull it down. Click on when you would like to be notified.
If it doesn't work, we'll go from there! ( please let it work)!
Ellen,

When you say you switched to Mozilla do you mean for email? If so, you should check the SPAM filter on Mozilla. It may be classifying the notifications as SPAM since each mail application may so that differently.

If you are only using Mozilla for web browsing it would be unrelated.
I don't get them!!
Since I switched to Mozilla, I'm not receiving notifications of new posts. And since I know nothing about how all that works, I don't know if it's a coincidence or if it's blocking them. Are others getting them?

Can anyone help, s'il vous plait?
