Ellen - I had a great time too. We'll get an article up ASAP. Promise. Who has photos? ;-)
The get together this weekend in DC was wonderful; magnificent food thanks to Bistro Lepic and lots of talk about France. It was great to be able to meet others who share a passion for France and to visit with old friends. Thanks Karen for organizing it; I'm already looking forward to the next one!

Is it time for another Washington DC Bonjour Paris get together? If there are enough interested people, perhaps we could schedule one this June (2008) ???
Please add your comments!

I added mine!

It's true of course that what bound us together was our mutual love for France. Karen asked each of us to stand up and talk a little about ourselves and what brought us to BP. So many of us said the same thing; France is a part of us and we feel we belong there. The hightlight for me was meeting Karen, st. germain and Mara who I feel I know after a year of posting on BP. What was surprising to me was that most of the attendees are non-posters. They're either a premium member and enjoy the newsletter or are connected some other way. I did try to pursuade a few people to post but several said they weren't computer savvy and weren't comfortable with the idea. It was a delightful group of people and a delightful afternoon.

Karen arranged to have pictures taken and they'll be good. As soon as I get my own computer back I'll load the ones my husband took; a few of those should be good also.

Again, a big thanks to Karen for organizing it, down to the BP letterhead menus!

I enjoyed the GTG immensely! It was certainly worth the trip from Brooklyn - six hours on the Vamoose bus - OY! (I did stay overnight with my cousins in Bethesda....)

It was wonderful meeting a few of my fellow posters on the board - and Karen! - plus, of course, the many other interesting people who are Paris lovers but have not yet posted on the site.

The restaurant was lovely - across from the Metro which was convenient for me. My meal was delicious as well as the wine.

I've been to going on to 4 get-to-gethers and they were all "Harmonious". Shouldn't be a surprise. In fact the more wine the more harmonious they all became. wink.gif cool.gif

It would have been fun to be there. I look forward to seeing the pictures.

It was a wonderful get together and we're preparing a photo gallery. What surprised me is how harmonious everyone was ..... their one common love was one of France.

Mara came ... and Ellen! I'm sure they will have more to say when they have time. The greatest comment of the lunch was when someone said they wished St. Germain had attended the event. I introduced them -- only to have her blurt out that she he thought he was "much older."

Considering how much territory he covers during his trips to Paris (with dear and lovely Kathy), I could only giggle. I become exhausted from reading his trip reports and I love seeing Paris through his (hyperactive) and discerning eyes.

We all had a great time and got to meet many non-posters. The wine was great, the food brought back memories of Paris and our host, Karen, was in top form.

I hope you encouraged the non-posters to start posting. Plus on est de fous, plus on rit ! The more, the merrier!

And who is going to be the first one to report on todays activities. I'll be very upset if I see it in the online Washington Post first.

Did we all behave ourselves?

And while I'm asking could somebody tell us why the all inclusive Catagory ""Bonjour Paris Paris
get to gethers"was marked "Closed" accepting no replys?

Al - We'll find Someone to write about the get together! ~ Promise. There may even be photos!

As for the topic being closed, there are plenty of threads where to post your thoughts and ideas! We welcome them!
