Pastas in this shape are available in Paris too (in the Marais I think).
Ok this subject is not as interesting as the BonjourParis spirit, but let's see this topic as a little "récréation"!

Vraiment!!
I'm not sure what all the fuss is about. Pasta in that shape has been available all over Rome (and in some of the other big cities in Italy) for decades that I know about, probably much longer. Familiarly referred to as "cazzi degli angeli." (I won't translate. Probably doesn't need a translation, anyway.)

The count now is 2 for and 2 against. We have over 2,000 BPers eligible to vote unless we allow guests, too. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Al -- hummmm. Tempting.
But I don't think that would be an appropriate Bonjour Paris poll -- even though SEX scores VERY high on the search engines ;-)

Ah yes. They do exist. They are even placed in the display window. Tis the humor of the Marais!

Al:

I've never seen a bread crafted to be a phallic symbol.

Bonsoir Karen,

A bit tired after this first long day of "pré-rentrée" for teachers wink.gif !!!

Just wanted to say that, like you, I've never seen such "thingies" !!! Amicalement.

It's been reported more than once on these posts. Last time was on the famous shopping street in the 5th.

As for your second question, I would consider it indiscreet to ask.

Luxembourg: Is it a marketing gimmick or do people buy???

My goodness Karen, as an old timer in Paris how can you play the innocent. Must be years and years since you got over the shock of seeing them anywhere (or should I say everywhere) in Paris. wink.gif I guess you want to keep the post moving but is it fair to have Luxembourg carry the ball oops.

What I was wondering since this was seen in the Marais (as compared to all over the rest of Paris) did it have any distinguishing Jewish characteristics? biggrin.gif

At the risk of offending some but giving others a good laugh- here in the Marais we have a boulangerie on Croix de la Bretonnerie that makes a loaf of bread in the shape of male" private parts". It is there in the window for all to see. I cant tell you how many times I have giggled as someone new stops to stare and gasp in amazement.
