Calixte is good but I would cross the bridge and go to Kayser on the rue Monge instead.
Closer to lunch? Really? The flights from DC that I've looked at land at 6:30 a.m. at CDG. I read somewhere to expect it to take 2 hours to get into Paris (with customs and everything)...so that puts us at 8:30 a.m. Even if it takes 3 hours, that's 9:30 and still not close to lunch. Even if our bodies want lunch, I'm determined to be on Paris time from the get-go. If I have all of this wrong, let me know.

Also, you'll get breakfast on the plane, even if it's usually nothing I would write home about...

Nina.....Most all of us arrive early in the AM. By experience, taking all involved into consideration, you most probably will be closer to lunch than breakfast. wink.gif
Has anyone tried Calixte on the Ile St. Louis? Patrica Wells waxes poetic about it but I haven't seen it in any other guide. Perhaps it is still a "secret"?? Since we're staying on the Ile. and we will arrive very early in the morning, our plan is to drop our luggage and head over to Calixte for our first Parisian morsel. Would love to hear if anyone has any personal experiences with this place...or if you have another patisserie/cafe recommendation for superb croissants and pains au chocolat on the Ile.

Merci,
Nina
