Ellen and EVERYONE: Please please register your email address in the little tiny orange envelope! Let's get these boards going again!~!!
Mara??
Ellen - what a nice offer. BUT - we want to integrate the discussion board .... and so much more!!!
It's all a part of a piece. In negotiations NOW!
Please have patience. et merci!
Karen, I didn't realize until this post that it's money you need to get the board back in shape. Don't know if it's the correct protocol, but what about putting a plea on the weekly BP newsletter? I imagine a lot of those readers are also readers of the discussion board, even if they don't post, and would also not want to see it go away.
Al - no one has been more upset than I. Bonjour Paris has been my community for more years that I care to think. I've lost enough family. K
Took time and have been yelling at you all to POST. Thanks girls for coming thru. We shall perservers
Ellen -- I am with you and how. I miss the BP discussion board and am hiring a NEW tech team to rectify the problem PLEASE send money. I am not happy and there's no longer a .com crisis with competent people being willing to work for nothing. Or even a reasonable rate. But the board is a priority.
I have to agree with Mary Ann. Karen, I know you're working very hard and have the same frustrations. It's sad that people aren't posting and I miss everyone. I think back to four or five years ago when I was trying to get information about an upcoming trip to Paris and found BP. It was a vibrant board then with lots of posters and energy.
Any chance we can change back to the old format? Aside from a few frustrations from time to time (which seem minor now), it was user friendly. This one, unfortunately, is counter-intuitive and downright impossible to use.
Looking forward to reconnecting!
Thanks for your reply, Karen. I can't figure out how to fix my name back to my UserID, so I won't be posting again until a solution is posted somewhere. After an hour, I stopped looking. I also tried for another hour to figure out how to send you or someone from BP an email to ask that and more -- but again no luck. Would have liked to have started a new post on this but again -- yep -- no luck! I feel like I "lost my house keys" a couple of months ago and still looking...
My membership is coming up and honestly, at this moment I can't see paying for this... It really seems "broken." I'm sure you're working very hard on it Karen and I do empathize -- I know how important this is to you and I feel badly. Please keep us posted somehow and sending good wishes your way, because really, it's been a great site.
Mary Ann: I agree and please have faith and patience. Have just raised some money to fix the board and the other (too) many glitches. Suffice it to say I am more annoyed than you. I hope within the next couple of weeks that the board will be fixed or the blood you see will be mine. (:
I think its time for me to give up on trying to follow/understand/use this board. The discussion /posting area is not at all user friendly -- can't find latest posts, need to wade through an alpha topic list, have had trouble replying, etc... too many issues to list. I am visiting Paris again (yay!) in Sept., 08 and would have loved to have read and posted more before, during and after my trip but this has become an awful lot of work. Before it was fun. I wish the board could just go back to prior format. I finally decided I need to just search for other web sites that are more user friendly. :(
Oh, on topic -- I did rent an apartment again in Le Marais..............
Let me see what can be done regarding the font size ... and yes, I am the first to admit the discussion board has more than its fair share of problems.
My sincere apologies.
K
You're right, Mara. I don't remember seeing it before, but it's definitely there now. My font type is excruciatingly small, too. Must be minus 4!
I haven't tried it Al but I think if you click on the main subject which is Apartment, Homes and Real Estate, you will see a 'new topic' next to RSS feed. I guess you should try to go this under a relevant main heading though.
I don't know how it is on your computer but the font to type the message is about the tiniest I've ever seen...
Well, the new board is really disappointing - I have been on this forum now for so long - back before it even looked like a discussion board.....seems like it's definitely losing its mojo ;-)
On the 2June Ellen posted a question as to how one can post a new thread. As of today....no answer or even acknowledgement. IF YOU DONT HAVE AN ANSWER....SAY SO. I don't know about you, but I would miss BJ if the Forum kept up this behavior.
And quote a previous postring in the same thread.
Karen, not sure since this us under "Apartments, Homes and Rel Estate", if you're referring to the board or not, but I have to say that I'm not warming up to the new site. I'm assuming you're responding to Al. . .
How does one post a new topic?
Yes?? We're open to hearing all of them and are working on the discussion board. Can you hear me swearing in French??
